Summer is just beginning its slow retreat and making way for my most favorite time of year in the Sonoma Valley, harvest. Harvest time is the first sign that cooler weather is just ahead, but even more importantly, in the very near future the valley will be filled with the intoxicating aroma of crush.
Who doesn’t love a win-win situation! Well, here is a great example of a Sonoma Valley win-win. It’s called the Funky Fridays music series, and it’s happening up at Sugar Loaf Ridge State Park every Friday night this summer. If you’re anything like me, you probably didn’t know this was going on, but here is our chance to get in the know and have some fun!
I really do believe in the phrase “everybody’s good at something” and without a doubt locals of Sonoma Valley are really good at having fun and throwing a great party. Look, being really good at enjoying great food and wine is a talent, it takes hard work and a lot of desire, but hey, somebody’s got to do it..right?!
As if you needed another reason to love the Sonoma Valley, being able to jump on a bike and take in the sights and smells of this place will just make you happy. Come along as I take you on one of my favorite bike rides in the valley, the Cavedale climb. I documented the ride a while back and thought I would share, I hope you like it too.
If you ever need physical evidence of small town amazingness, then just come to Sonoma on the 4th of July. If you do, and you should, you will experience a number of things that will completely ruin your future expectations for what a 4th of July party should and could be..just say’n.
